Ver-o-Guia Belém
Belém do Pará in your pocket, with a source for every detail.
Ver-o-Guia Belém is a pocket guide to Belém, in the Brazilian Amazon state of Pará. It covers sights from the Ver-o-Peso market to Theatro da Paz, Pará food like açaí, tacacá and maniçoba, trips to Combu, Cotijuba and Mosqueiro, ready plans for one, two and three days, and the calendar of the Círio de Nazaré and other festivals. Every practical detail shows its source and the date it was checked, with a "Confirm before you go" note, and there are no ratings or prices without a real source. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons with credits. The content works offline; only the map needs a connection. Free, with two inline ads and no purchases, in Portuguese and English.

What it does
Simple premise. Real value.
Places with their history
More than 45 places, from Ver-o-Peso and Estação das Docas to the potters of Icoaraci, each with history, tips and address.
Pará food
Açaí, tacacá, maniçoba, duck in tucupi and more: what each dish is and where it is usually found.
Day plans and the Círio
Plans for one, two and three days, stop by stop, plus the calendar of the Círio de Nazaré and the yearly festivals.
A source for every detail
Hours and prices show where they came from and when they were checked. No source means no rating.
The story behind it
The Problem
Most guides to Belém mix stale opening hours with ratings and prices nobody can trace back to anything. For a visitor planning a day, a confident wrong opening hour is worse than no answer at all.
What I Built
A Flutter app with five tabs and the whole guide bundled as JSON, each item carrying the URL of its source and the date it was checked. Photos come from Wikimedia Commons with author and licence, the map uses OpenStreetMap tiles, and location is read coarsely and only on the phone.
What I Learned
Holding every item to a real source decided what the guide leaves out. There are no stars or reviews, and lodging and tickets were cut altogether, because no current source existed for them.
What the app collects, and the rules for its paid features: privacy policy and terms of use.
