Stone World: privacy and terms of use

The privacy policy covers what the app collects, who else receives it and how to delete it. The terms of use cover what is free, what is paid and what you may do with the app.

Stone World is a puzzle game: you push rune stones onto an altar, find keys and open gates across twenty chambers. Your progress and your settings stay on your phone. What leaves it is what Google's ad network needs to show the ad between chambers and, if you buy "All chambers + no ads", what Google Play needs to process the payment. This page says what each of those is.

I, Tiago Danin, am the developer and the controller of this data under the LGPD (Lei 13.709/2018). If you are in the EU, the GDPR gives you the same rights and I answer them the same way. Write to TiagoDanin@outlook.com about any of it.

What the app keeps on your phone

Which chambers you solved, your volume, sound and music settings, how many chambers you finished since the last ad, and whether you own "All chambers + no ads". They are kept in the app's own storage. None of it is uploaded to me or to any server, and uninstalling the app removes all of it.

The app has no account, no sign-in, no chat and no way to share anything. It never asks you to grant a permission: the ones it declares are internet access, Google Play billing and the advertising ID the ad network reads.

What leaves your phone

Ads

After every fifth chamber you complete, Stone World shows one full-screen ad, which may be a video, before the next chamber opens. There are no banners and no ads during a chamber. If the ad is not ready, the game moves on without it. Google AdMob serves the ad. To pick and measure ads, AdMob uses the advertising ID, your IP address (and from it an approximate location), the device model and how you interact with the ad, and it may show ads based on your interests. With "All chambers + no ads" no ad is ever shown or loaded.

Where the law asks for consent, such as in the EU and the UK, the app shows Google's consent form before any ad loads, and you can change your answer later in Settings, "Ad privacy". You can also reset or delete the advertising ID in Android settings, under Privacy, Ads (on some phones, Google, Ads). Deleting it stops personalised ads on the whole device.

The "All chambers + no ads" purchase

It is a one-time purchase made through Google Play. Google Play handles the payment: I never see your card or your payment details. When the app opens, it asks Google Play whether your Google account owns the purchase, so a purchase made on another phone, or before reinstalling, is picked up by itself. Google shares with me, through the Play Console, the order information it gives every developer, such as the order number, date, country and amount.

The purchase goes through Unity IAP, a library inside the app made by Unity Technologies. It talks to Google Play on your phone, and it may send Unity technical information about the library itself, such as the device model, the Android version, the app version and errors, so that Unity can keep it working. It is not used for ads.

What is not collected

Stone World has no analytics of its own, no crash reporting and no server. I do not receive your progress, your settings or any identifier from the app.

Who receives it

  • Google AdMob receives what it needs to show the ad between chambers and to record your consent choice, as described above.
  • Google Play processes the payment and tells the app whether you own the purchase.
  • Unity Technologies may receive the technical information of its purchase library, as described above.

Their terms: How Google uses information from apps that use its services, Google Privacy Policy, Google Play terms and Unity Privacy Policy.

I do not sell your data or hand it to a data broker. I would only disclose it if a Brazilian court or authority legally required it.

Why it is used

The ads and the purchase pay for the game. The ads rely on your consent where the law requires it, and otherwise on my legitimate interest and on the choices you make in Android's ad settings. Purchase data is used to deliver what you paid for, which is the performance of that contract.

Where it is stored

Google and Unity store this data on their servers, which may be outside Brazil, including in the United States. They apply the safeguards described in their data processing terms to those transfers.

How long it is kept

Nothing is kept on my side. AdMob, Google Play and Unity keep their data under their own policies.

Your rights

Because there is no account, nothing on my side links data to you by name. You can still ask me what exists, ask for deletion, or object to processing at TiagoDanin@outlook.com, and I answer within 15 days, the period the LGPD sets. Resetting the advertising ID and uninstalling the app cut the link between new data and your device. You may also complain to the ANPD, Brazil's data protection authority.

Security

Traffic to Google's and Unity's services is encrypted. No system is completely secure, but your progress is never on a server to begin with.

Children

Stone World is not directed at children, and I do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child's data reached the app, write to me.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. For a change that affects what is collected or who receives it, the app shows a notice before the change takes effect.

Terms of use

Last updated

These terms apply to anyone who installs or uses Stone World. By using the app you accept them. If you do not, uninstall it; nothing else is needed.

Who provides the app

Tiago Danin, a private individual in Brazil, who develops and publishes Stone World on Google Play. "I" and "me" below mean him. "You" means the person using the app.

What Stone World is

A puzzle game. In each chamber you push rune stones onto an altar, take keys from chests and open gates; when every rune on the altar is lit, the portal to the next chamber opens.

Price

Stone World is free to download and play, and every chamber can be reached without paying: each one opens once you solve the one before it. After every fifth chamber you complete, a full-screen ad plays before the next one.

"All chambers + no ads" is a one-time purchase sold through Google Play, with the price shown by Google Play before you pay. It is not a subscription. It opens every chamber at once and removes the ads for good. It is tied to the Google account that bought it: on another phone with the same account, or after reinstalling, the app turns it back on when it opens. Payment, receipts and refunds follow Google Play's terms and refund policy, without prejudice to your rights under the Código de Defesa do Consumidor.

What you agree not to do

Do not copy, resell or redistribute the app, or get around its purchase, its ads or its security.

What you may do with it

I give you a personal, free, non-exclusive and revocable licence to use Stone World on your devices. The name, the icon, the chambers and the design remain mine, and the art comes from licensed packs whose authors keep their rights.

Availability

I work on Stone World in my own time. Chambers and features may change, be removed or stop working, and the app may be discontinued. What you bought keeps working for as long as the app is available.

Liability

Stone World is provided as it is. To the extent Brazilian law allows, I am not liable for losses caused by the phone, the network or Google's services, or for progress lost on a phone that was reset or replaced. Nothing here removes a right that the law gives you and that a contract cannot take away, such as those in the Código de Defesa do Consumidor.

Privacy

What the app collects is described in the privacy policy on this same page.

Changes

I may update these terms. The date at the top changes when I do, and a change that affects you is announced in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Stone World after that means you accept the new version.

Law

Brazilian law governs these terms. Anything an email cannot settle goes to the courts of Belém, Pará, without prejudice to your right as a consumer to sue where you live.
